Smooth Drop-Offs and Warm Welcome Backs
Across all ten FVSD campuses, the morning began with seamless drop-offs as parents, guardians, and staff worked together to help students transition into the new school year. Friendly front office teams were on hand to answer questions, guide families to classrooms, and offer reassurance to our newest and youngest learners entering Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, school mascots made special morning appearances at campus entrances, handing out high-fives and posing for photo opportunities with enthusiastic students and families.
Building Safe and Supportive School Communities
In the classrooms, teachers focused the first day on connection and community building. Students gathered in circles to introduce themselves, share summer memories, and establish group goals for the year. These early connections help build inclusive environments where every student feels seen, heard, and ready to learn.
Outdoors, students took to the playgrounds and multi-purpose areas to review safety guidelines for play equipment, sports courts, and gathering spaces like the campus bowls. Using the district-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, staff proactively demonstrated expected behaviors, emphasizing kindness, responsibility, and safe play.
Ready for an Outstanding Year
By the time the afternoon dismissal bell rang, students left campus with new friendships, familiar routines, and a clear path forward for the months ahead. The Fountain Valley School District extends its heartfelt gratitude to all of our families, staff, and community members for making Day One a wonderful success.
