Welcome

My name is Mr. Weireter and I have been teaching at Masuda Middle School since 2016. I began my teaching career in Los Angeles Unified School district back in 2008; where I taught Physical Education and History. I earned a bachelors degree in history and a teaching credential in Social Science and Physical Education from Cal State Northridge. I am a life long Laker Fan, win or lose.

 

I grew up in Ventura playing Basketball and Volleyball; and I have four siblings. I decided to become a History teacher when I was 15; while taking an amazing History class at my Alma Mater- Buena High School. My younger brother and older sister are both Water Polo Coaches and English teachers in Ventura County. My wife is also a teacher (History) and works in Irvine Unified School District. We have a daughter, who was born in 2017.

 

I currently teach 8th Grade US History, Honors 8th Grade US History and Honors 7th Grade World History at Masuda. Previously I have taught 6th-8th Grade English Language Arts, 6-8th Grade Physical Education and various elective courses.

 

I believe that public education is a cornerstone of modern civilization; and is essential in order for our democracy to survive. That being said- History should be fun!
